Q. Are acupuncture needles painful?
A. While most of our patients at Brunswick Acupuncture report feeling relaxed during their acupuncture treatments, this is a difficult question to answer definitively because everyone feels pain in different ways and at varying intensities.
The needles used in acupuncture are super fine needles. They are much smaller than an injection needle and are similar to the size of a single strand of hair.
Our patient’s comfort is paramount to our acupuncture treatments, so we administer acupuncture needles with your feedback during the session. We’re able to ease off needles if they become too painful or uncomfortable, and can adjust the acupuncture treatment according to your requirements.
Q. It’s my first visit to Brunswick Acupuncture, what can I expect?
A. Allow an hour for your first visit to our practice.
In your first consultation, we’ll assist you through a holistic diagnosis for acupuncture treatment, by detailing your health history through questioning and using traditional Chinese medicine procedures and observations.
We’ll take the time to explain to you how acupuncture may be able to work with your condition and to answer any questions you may have regarding how acupuncture may affect your treatment.
After your first acupuncture session we look at your immediate outcomes. We observe how symptoms change to try to help inform your approach to future acupuncture treatments.
