At Brunswick Osteopathy, our osteopaths treat a range of conditions including:
When you initially come in for a consultation, the osteopath will take a thorough medical history to gain an insight into possible causes and contributing factors related to your condition. The osteopath will then use palpation to assess areas of weakness, tenderness, restriction or strain within your body. Once a diagnosis is reached, the osteopath will employ a variety of techniques including: soft tissue (massage), muscle stretching techniques, joint articulation and mobilisation, myofascial release and joint traction. The follow-up care and advice may include stretching and strengthening exercises, breathing techniques and advice on nutrition.
Each intial consultation will take about 40 minutes.
Each subsequent consultation will take about 30 minutes.
There are currently five fully qualified osteopaths at Brunswick Osteopathy. Dr Stuart King, Dr Elizabeth Dwyer, Dr Caitlin Wright. Dr Gabrielle Cresp and Dr Matthew Wallace-Smith have all completed a five year university course comprising a Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Master of Health Science in Osteopathic Medicine.
